Argyle head into the midweek game after a glorious victory against high flyers Shrewsbury and now Adams’ men find themselves sitting at the dizzy height of tenth, a position that would have looked almost impossible back in October. Argyle look set on a starting consistent 11 now and it seems to be working, having acheived 3 wins in a row for the first time all season. With the helping hand of a relatively clean injury list, Adams stated ‘we’ve got players in this team who are fresh…’. With 14 games left of the season and safety virtually assured, Argyle are looking to build on what they currently have, who knows where they can reach?
AFC Wimbledon sit less happy in League One. Currently hovering over the relegation zone and without a win in their last three games, Ardley’s men need to find their ‘Wembley shoes’ if they want to overcome Argyle again. They had previously however been on very good form during the winter so Argyle should be wary of the potential for the tanker to turn back around.

Ardley’s men are likely to set up with 3 at the back again which could be exploited by Argyle.

With a game only a few days before this and another days after, I can see Adams potentially rotating slightly to avoid the prospect of injuries.

Head-to-head
Since AFC Wimbledon’s formation in 2002 and their ascension to the football league in 2011, the two sides have only met 14 times. The first time come back in summer 2011 as Argyle lost 2-0 in League Two and the first encounter at Wimbledon saw a 2-1 Argyle win with Oni Bhasera scoring after just 11 seconds.
AFC Wimbledon away was Adams’ first game in charge back in 2015 as Argyle were 2-0 victors away from home.
These two met four times in all competitions in the 2015/16 season, with Argyle winning twice(including the aforementioned game), and Wimbledon winning twice (including the play off final).

Argyle’s form as ever is great with 6 wins out of the last 7 games at Home Park and Wimbledon’s away form does not match up. I can’t see anything other than a win for Argyle at home. Everyone is coming into full fitness and confidence and I expect Adams’ men to pile the pressure of League Two football onto Ardley’s boys. 2-0.
