A brief introduction

Adams and his inform Argyle head into Saturday’s match just one point and one place below the play offs. With 12 games left in the Pilgrims’ campaign, they will be aiming to finish as close to the play offs as possible, and Saturday sees them come up against the team joint on points and sitting one place below them with a game in hand, Bradford. A crucial game for both sides.

Bradford are relying on their good start to the season now to keep them in contention as they’re without a win since New Year’s Day away to Fleetwood, and that run of form even includes a loss to League Two side Yeovil Town in the 3rd round of the FA Cup. So, Bradford will be looking to turn their form around and revive their promotion ambitions on Saturday. Their one ray of hope is the appointment of Simon Grayson who is something of a promotion specialist from this league, getting up four times with four different clubs but it will still be a tough ask to turn their plummeting form around.

Predicted line-ups

Bradford have been trying out a three at the back formation in recent times and I think will stick with this on Saturday.

(3-5-2) Doyle; Warnock, Knight-Percival, McGowan; McMahon, Dieng, Guy, Vincelot, Chicksen; Gillead, Wyke

I fully expect Adams to keep the same line up as it has been in previous weeks leading up to the Oxford so long as Threlkeld is back to fitness (which would see Songo’o drop back to his role as defensive supersub).

(4-3-3) Matthews; Threlkeld, Vyner, Bradley, Sawyer; Sarcevic, Fox, Ness; Lameiras, Taylor, Carey

Head-to-head

This will be the third meeting between these two clubs already this season(due to the FA Cup draw), with both teams winning a game each.

Argyle have been a thorn in Bradford’s side over decades. Between the years of 1931 and 1935, Argyle went unbeaten against Bradford, and again between 1987 and 1994.

The highest scoring game came in 1936 when Argyle drew at home with Bradford 4-4.

Writer’s comments

Sorry to be boring, but I really can’t see past Argyle in this game, I’m afraid. With the current form of Argyle compared to that of the form of Bradford I can see nothing other than another win for the home side, that may see them pushed up into the play off places. 3-1 Argyle.
