A brief introduction.

Argyle head into Saturday’s game with Northampton following a scoreless draw against southern counterpart Portsmouth – a result many Argyle fans were happy to see due to the circumstances surrounding the game. After a few midweek games, Adams’ men find themselves one spot outside the playoffs however have at least a game in han ( in some cases, two games in hand) over every other team in the shake up and are only one point off. Therefore, a win for the Greens in this game should see them firmly in the box seat reaching the playoffs especially if other results go their way.

Saturday’s hosts come in the shape of Northampton, who find themselves at the opposite end of the table to the greens, yet an end of the table Argyle were all too familiar with at the beginning of the season. Northampton find themselves 4 points off safety and have played an extra game than most teams in and around them. Therefore, every game they have left is a real must-win. Northampton could be relegated in this game if they lose and Oldham win.

Writer’s comments.

Northampton will have the bit between their teeth and be hard to turnover as they look to stay up, but Argyle need to stamp their authority over this game but also the playoffs so they could really do with the three points away from home here. It’ll be an entertaining one. 3-1 Argyle.
