Plymouth Argyle could go top of the table after they play Northampton Town on Saturday, but that’s not what manager Ryan Lowe is thinking about.

Lowe told reporters: “I’m not trying to chase anyone down; we’re just trying to get to our level where we want to be. We’re not chasing anyone, there’s only five games gone.”

“Let’s worry about us, no-one else. Ten points out of a possible 15 is a good start but I always want more and the standards we set are very high. We aren’t chasing anyone down, we’re just worried about where we get to and when we get there. It’s up to us to get to where we want to get to.”

“We’re expecting a tough, tough game. They haven’t had the best start they’d have liked, but we’re not taking Northampton lightly at, all we know it’s going to be a stern test going there, it always is. Keith [Curle] has brought some quality players in.”

Lowe also expressed his delight with the arrival of former Crewe Alexandra teammate George Cooper, on loan from Peterborough United: “He can play anywhere. He can play left wing-back, right wing-back, anywhere across the middle three and anywhere across the front two really.”

“For me, you can’t have enough attacking players. You want goals in your team, and the players can keep pushing each other. If George is to get 10 goals, Jose could get 10 goals, Danny could get 10 goals. You’re pushing each other and driving each other to potentially get more goals, more assists and that’s why we’ve brought him in.”
