After a brief hiatus, it’s time to get back into the swing of things in FM2020 and right the wrongs of a miserable winless November.
Cambridge away is our first chance to pick ourselves out of this slump.

So broken handed Blair will have to mark Billy Clarke, who I didn’t end up signing. Squad was already bloated enough.
And a pretty drab day in Cambridge. Can we start scoring again please?

And into the Pompey replay we go, without Ryan Blair, who’s hand is too broken to play, so Adam Randell comes in again to show some local ‘pashun’. As well as Joel Grant in some attempt to score goals, which is pretty important in football.
And score goals he does in a really entertaining game, but we go out on pens. Gutted.
This is something new for this year’s game. An interesting look ahead at our future youth players. 2 decent centre backs and a goalkeeper. We already have Mike Cooper for the years to come, a bit disappointed a gifted striker hasn’t come through the system.
Welcome back Derek Adams. I’ve sprung a 4-3-3 just to surprise him.

Maybe a sign we should look to move a way from ‘Lowe-ball’?

And it’s finally happened! Someone appoints Ryan Lowe, I’m excited to see how he gets on at Bradford.

Fair play to Luke Varney for the giving the fans their monies worth, with a goal and a sending off within 40 minutes.
And here I was taking Mike Cooper for granted as our future goalkeeper. The contract is being prepared ASAP.

Stevenage away, why did I drop Joel Grant. I don’t actually remember.
Once again, Ryan Blair’s hand hurts too much to play.

Happy new year, the Mayflower is finally open!
And it’s official. I even wore my best Argyle tie. Cooper sign’s on.
The new grandstand’s first game will be the visit of top of the league Swindon Town and arch nemesis Eoin Doyle. Old friends McCormick and Toums on the bench for them.
40 minutes in and we lose Danny Mayor to a twisted knee, annoyingly not the first time the same injury has forced him off this season.
George Cooper gets thrown on in the attacking role of our midfield 3.
10 minutes after the break and he’s already pulling strings, great ball over the top from Coops and Telford takes the ball down well and puts us ahead.
Just 1 minute after the first goal, Sarce tee’s up the super sub and Cooper smashes home!
And then he goes and put’s the ball right on Rudden’s head, and the 3 points are in the bag you would think.
Of course we conceded a late goal to give us a little bit of a scare, but we kept Doyle quiet and beat the league leaders. We have well and truly got this ship back on the promotion course.
But the man of the match actually went to young Randell with another commanding performance in midfield.
Solid in defence and positive with the ball. Spraying it around like Steven Gerrard.
And even more good news, as my faith in Telford is restored. A whopping 13 hours since his last goal.
Up next, the rest of January, can we keep the momentum up.
I am still looking for ways to improve the team and move players on.
George Cooper as surely won himself a loan extension if we can get it.
I need a athletic wing-back for the right hand side, and of course a striker would be good.
Im looking at experienced Championship or League One strikers who aren’t getting games to come help us out..
