We spoke to a Fleetwood fan ahead of of their visit to play Plymouth Argyle.
How long have you been supporting Fleetwood?
I’ve been following Fleetwood since 2010 and got a season ticket in 2012! Loved going though getting free tickets and started going more and more now I get to every game!
How do you feel Joey Barton manager has done since he joined this Summer?
Joey is learning in the job every day and that’s what’s the best thing. We’ve been a little inconsistent so far but we’ve improved from last season I feel. We have some good players and some good depth. Ashley Hunter looks unreal under him!
What tactical style do you perceive Fleetwood to play right now?
We play a very attacking, fast-paced style of football that involves a high press. With Ashley Hunter, Wes Burns and James Wallace we have a good balance on the wings.
Which players have stood out this season?
For me it has been Ashley Hunter and Paddy Madden. I feel they have been terrific this season and showed their quality. Paddy is a natural finisher and works hard for the team. Also a mention for the likes of Alex Cairns and Ashley Eastham who have been terrific this season as they always are!
And any weak links?
Probably If we concede first. We’ve not won a game or drawn a game when we’ve conceded first.
Ex-Argyle manager John Sheridan managed Fleetwood recently last season, what did you make of his time with you?
Really good and positive. Kept us up and did a good job. Came in and got 7 wins, 3 draws and 3 defeats and made us look comfortable in 13th! Good man management too. Great manager and someone who I have loads of respect of. Hope he does well at Carlisle United!
Who or what comes to mind when you think of Plymouth Argyle?
A team who are bottom but should be up in the Top 10. A good fan base with a nice ground. Underachieving.
Which Argyle player, if any, would you like to sign?
Antoni Sarcevic! A legend for us and his goal gave us promotion to League 1. Respect him.
How do you see the rest of the season panning out for Fleetwood?
Mid-table in my opinion. Think about 11th so safe but too inconsistent (for promotion).
And for Argyle?
10th-16th. I think you will change manager and he will keep you up just like Sheridan did for us.
And finally a prediction for the game?
Argyle 0-2 Fleetwood.
