Plymouth Argyle have added experienced broadcaster and TV executive Trevor East to their board of directors.

East 66, joins Chief Executive Andrew Parkinson, Paul Berne, Jane Chafer, Richard Holliday, John Morgan and Tony Wrathall – as well as Chairman Simon Hallett – on the board of directors.

East is best known for his roles as the head of ITV Sport and Deputy Managing Director of Sky Sports.

In his time as a Football TV executive, he has been responsible for the production of four Football World Cups, two Rugby World Cups, and two Olympic Games.

He left his role at Sky in 2005 to become a board chairman of Pitch International, a marketing agency whose clients include those such as Six Nations Rugby, FA and ECB.

The newly- appointed director, told the club website “It’s [Argyle] a great club with terrific support. The potential is huge, and an infrastructure is being put in place to help Ryan and his team deliver the success Argyle deserves. The immediate aim is very clear – to get Argyle back in the Championship. I will do everything I can to help Simon, Andrew and the board fulfil everyone’s ambitions.”

Plymouth Argyle chairman Simon Hallett said himself “We are delighted to welcome Trevor on to the Board. His knowledge and expertise of the football industry is second to none and will greatly benefit the club as we move forward.”

Whilst, Argyle Manager Ryan Lowe took to Twitter describing the appointment as “another good addition to the board.”

The news comes on the back of an announcement that Hallett has invested further money in the team.
