Plymouth Argyle Ryan Lowe has stressed that his side will not be taking this game any easier despite playing bottom of the table Morecambe, managed by former Argyle boss Derek Adams.
Lowe said “there is not a chance of taking the game too lightly because I won’t let them. I respect Morecambe for what they are. They had a great manager in Jim Bentley and they have got some good players there, they always do a terrific job so there is no chance that we are going to under-estimate Morecambe, not a chance in this world”.
“Everyone expects you to go and give teams that are down the bottom a good hiding, that’s not the case.”
Nor did Argyle’s manager read much into the return of Derek Adams to Home Park for the first time since his sacking in April.
“Derek did a good job here and it might add something extra for the fans, but it’s not about me or Derek Adams. We’ll both be looking for the points.”
Elsewhere, Lowe confirmed that current fullbacks and Callum McFadzean Joe Edwards would be out of Saturday’s game with injury and suspension respectively.
“We are just waiting for some more news on Fadz [Callum McFadzean]. He has had a scan on it.”
“He feels fine in himself, he’s doing all the work but I’m not going to question big Dave [physio Dave Galley]. I’m going to leave it to him and let him sort it out.”
“Fadz had a few whacks and a few issues early on in the season. We will just keep monitoring Fadz. The likelihood is he will probably miss Saturday.”
“Joe will miss Saturday, he’s picked up a suspension for 5 yellow cards. It’s up to a few players to stake their claim in training before the game to make that place theirs.”
