Opposition View: Macclesfield vs Plymouth Argyle
“We’re short for goals up front. Most games end with both teams scoring fewer than two goals. It’s tight, low risk, low scoring football.”
Player Ratings: Plymouth Argyle 2 Crewe 1
Far stronger away from centre-back, this was one of the finest individual displays from any player we’ve seen this season.
Player Ratings: Salford 2 Plymouth Argyle 3
For the sixth time this season, Plymouth Argyle found themselves locked at 2-2. However, they bucked the trend, scoring the winner to steal the points.
Opposition View: Colchester vs Plymouth Argyle
“We’ll be hurting from our 2-1 defeat to Cambridge United, but I don’t think we have enough to blow Plymouth out of the water. 1-1.”
Argyle find yet another way to win against Newport
Newport played to their strengths and launched plenty of high balls into the area. But Palmer was strong, brave, and claimed them when required.
The Opposition View: Plymouth Argyle vs Newport
I think it will be similar to the last game. We may try and press from the front but we won’t want to be caught out of position, we’ll want to be tight.
Player Ratings: Plymouth Argyle 2 Crawley 2
For some Plymouth Argyle fans, the draw against Crawley will be a point gained on Exeter and Swindon, for others it will be two dropped.
Argyle overcome Westley once more
It wasn’t pretty, but the fact Argyle eventually managed to overcome Westley-ball to secure all three points was all that mattered.
Player Ratings: Stevenage 1 Plymouth Argyle 2
Three points away to Stevenage saw Plymouth Argyle climb back into the top three for the first time since August, with games in hand against their rivals.
Argyle ride their luck to secure Mansfield victory
This was a balancing of fortunes. Often enough, Argyle have out-played and out-created their opponents but failed to win. For once, the roles were reversed.
Player Ratings: Plymouth Argyle 3 Mansfield 1
Plymouth Argyle weathered an early storm – nay, hurricane – to emerge unscathed and eventually claim all three points against a very wasteful Mansfield.
Opposition View: Plymouth Argyle v Mansfield
I was worried by Coughlan’s lack of experience in management and still am, but I’ve seen much more promise and believe that next season will be far better.
