Ryan Lowe has confirmed that Dominic Telford remains injured and will not take part in this weekend’s match against Swindon Town, the second tie between the two clubs at the County Ground this week. However, George Cooper and Jose Baxter should return, while Byron Moore is nearing a comeback.
Lowe said: “Jose [Baxter] is training today, He’s available. Byron [Moore] is training today, not with the first-team as such – in and out. Dom is probably a week to ten days away. We won’t rush Dom because we’ve got Byron back next.”
“George Cooper is back training, with a funny mask on, but there’s no need to rush him either. George is 100% available for Saturday, provided he doesn’t get a bang on it. I would have thought he’d be alright; he’s chomping at the bit. There was talk that he needed to get an operation but he didn’t want it. I certainly didn’t want it. The mask is the way forward.”
Baxter and Moore were both injured in the 2-2 draw at Crawley Town last month, while Cooper broke his nose after taking a boot to the face while defending a corner during the 1-0 win away to Mansfield. Telford remains injured since he went off in the first-half of the 2-0 loss to Cheltenham.
Argyle won 3-0 away to Swindon Town earlier this week in the EFL Trophy, with both teams fielding much changed sides.
