It’s part 8 and we have 8 games until the 2018/19 season ends. We still have an outside chance of reaching the play-offs.
We start with the bizarre news that on-loan and out of form ( and currently out of our squad ) Kaylen Hinds has got an England Under 20’s call up.
Not sure what he’s done recently to warrant that…
Interesting appointment.
Here we go then, Bristol Rovers at home. Always a tasty game.
I’m trying something new today. PASOTI user macleanie said that they’ve had success with playing the wingers further back, particularly the performances of Joel Grant on the left.
Well that worked.
But going into our next game we run into a tricky injury headache.
Brendan Galloway is suspended. Stankovic and Wootton are injured. Our only other left back is injured so Sawyer can’t move into central defence. So we actually had to give a debut to Peter Grant who I had to bring back from the u23’s. He suffered a really bad injury in pre-season. He’s not fit. He’s not really good enough for this level either. But he’s our only option.
But Peter Grant and the boy’s get the clean sheet!
Simon Hallett and the boys are happy with avoiding a relegation fight this season offer me a new contract that I happily sign. A one year extension to keep me on my toes.
I don’t think Ryan Taylor will be involved much in our remaining games.
Ruben hasn’t set the league alight but he’s been good enough and I still rate him. He joins Carey as the second player to extend their contracts this season. The only other non-brainer tbh. The other’s will be decided at the end of the season.
It’s Derek Adams time! He brings his Charlton side to Home Park. This team should not be in the relegation zone. What a mess. Let’s make it worse for him.
Derek beaten by his own signings. Thank you Ryan and Joel.
Money money money.
A sneak preview of one of next years new signings who has signed a pre-contract agreement.
A Scottish striker who I am very excited about bringing to Home Park. I will show you more about him and all of our new signings next episode when we build our new team.
Looks like we’ve gone as far as we can in terms of a play-off push.
Teams at the top of the table start to secure play-off spots although they are still in the running for automatics.
2-0 down at half-time we pull off a very impressive comeback. Hinds who came in for the injured Freddie was good.
But his season is also over.
A 0-0 draw with the league leaders is a good result.
The press start asking me about under pressure Derek Adams. I’d like to see them stick with him, if only for my own entertainment.
Final game of the season. Cooper has been playing since it looked impossible for us to get play-offs. We are playing for pride.
Oh and to finish above Pompey.
I’ll keep my eye on the relegation scores. Will Derek Adams take Charlton to League Two.
Graham Carey has come to life at the most pointless time of the season with some recent screamers and assists. This one is the best of the bunch. Oh Graham, were have you been all season?
Barnsley are Champions.
Sunderland only just scrape into the play-offs.
Charlton go down with Gillingham, Rochdale and Shrewsbury.
And we win the ‘Derek Adams Trophy of Finishing above Portsmouth’.
We immediately assert our dominance by selling them our worst defender.
End of season awards.
No idea how Carey won player of the year.
Tafari Moore has really developed well and deserves young player of the season.
Some more seats for the stadium.
And it’s a few surprises in the play-offs.
We will have to deal with Sunderland again next season in league one.
Accrington Stanley win promotion to the Championship!
What an achievement, what a story.
That’s after losing John Coleman to Preston in November.
So there it is, the opening season of An Argyle Journey. We can defientley improve with some shrewd signings and push for play-offs next season. It’s been a season of pleasant surprises.
Here is a showcase of some of the stats and league tables from around the country and world.
Join us next time as we prepare for season two!
Thanks for your company this season and I hope you have enjoyed the updates.
