Plymouth Argyle Awards: 2018/2019
Despite the disappointing season for Plymouth Argyle, we would like to celebrate some of the high points of 2018/19 by handing out some Argyle Life Awards.

Plymouth Argyle may have been relegated, but there are a number of goals we can look back on fondly in a season of ultimate disappointment.

The hostility and tension reached breaking point between management and the fans. After radio silence in the immediate aftermath, Derek Adams was fired.

It was not the month of apocalyptically bad form, but it was the month where we ultimately didn’t secure the points that would have been needed.

Despite ending January with defeat, Argyle managed to carry over the momentum they had gained in 2019, going unbeaten for the entirety of February.

Argyle’s best month of the season came at the turn of the year, with the Pilgrims picking up 12 points from a possible 15 on offer, Ruben Lameiras the hero.

As with everything when looking back, it’s easy to speak with hindsight, but those two games in particular were hugely pivotal in shaping Argyle’s campaign.

November too had some positive indicators for the Green Army, but the month was bookended by two losses as well as having one stinker of a defeat.

Argyle were desperate. The late defeat to Burton left them bottom of the league. Fortunately, what followed was the Greens’ best week of the season to date.

If there was any optimism amongst the Green Army heading into the season, it was totally destroyed by the events of September.

Then, it came. Though we didn’t quite know it at the time, August 2018 contained 24 of the most critical hours in the club’s season.
