With thanks to Ollie Warner from Salopcast.
How did you get into supporting Shrewsbury?
I moved to Shrewsbury aged 6. My Dad was a Cash and Carry manager for Booker, and he moved to Shrewsbury. He used his marketing budget to get an advertising board. I started in the posh seats!
What went wrong for John Askey as the new manager (now sacked) after Paul Hurst left for Ipswich?
How many words do I have? He started well, playing an attractive 433 but we failed to score goals and made mistakes at the back. Results were inconsistent during his reign and performances tailed off after a bright start. The club invested in the squad during the summer and were disappointed with results. The caretaker manager has spoken about improving training, focusing on fitness and sharing data with the players.
What tactical style do you perceive Shrewsbury play right now?
We play a 442 diamond at the moment with Shaun Whalley out injured. We press well and have fluid movement with our four central midfielders.
Which players have stood out this season?
Anthony Grant from Peterborough has been class. He is a calm deep-lying-playmaker who helps lead the younger players. Greg Docherty on loan from Rangers has impressed and has an eye for goal.
And any weak links in the ranks?
We need to sign a left-back. Omar Beckles is a fine central defender and is currently covering at left-back.
Both Argyle and Shrewsbury have had a below par start this season, is there any reason aside from the manager you could put this down to?
No. It is all down to our former manager. Poor man management, coaching, training, tactical decisions (including bringing on strikers on 90 minutes) is the reason we are near the relegation zone. We have won three out of four games since John Askey departed.
Who or what comes to mind when you think of Plymouth Argyle?
A long drive! Friendly, passionate fans. A nice stadium in a pleasant city.
Which Argyle player, if any, would you like to sign?
Freddie Ladapo. He made a positive impact when on loan in our first season under Paul Hurst. His dancing celebrations won over the Shrews fans.
How do you see the rest of the season panning out for Shrewsbury?
I expect us to climb to mid-table and a few signings in January could see us push on.
And how about for Argyle?
I expect Plymouth to follow us up the table. I certainly don’t see Plymouth going down.
And finally a prediction for the game?
Salop win. 2-1.
